A couple contacted me out of Philadelphia - they had plans to get married on Canandaigua Lake and wanted to have a local designer do their invitations. The bride-to-be is from Taiwan so they wanted to integrate her culture with the laid back lake weddingconcept. Their colors were red and gold. I came up with a "logo" that integrated the Chinese letters of their name interchanged with another Chinese symbol that had a similar meaning to "good luck newlyweds" ---The invitation was a 9x4 short fold - using a photo of 2 adirondack chairs looking out to the lake as the main focus but you see the "logo" emblem as well until you open the card and see the invitation details. The direction card and rsvp card had the same rounded edge look to keep things consistent and then all 3 pieces were packaged in a red pocket folder that had their "logo" glued onto the outside.
Also included in this package was a brunch invitation that was done in the same manner - a flat 4x9 card sent in a red envelope - the card itself had rounded corners.
Finally, to round out the overall wedding brand - we did a fan as the program. 5x7 cards were printed and backed to each other with all of the wedding details. The handle of the fan was a popsicle stick hidden by a hand sewn red ribbon pocket.
The overall theme fit with everything the client asked for and they were very happy with the result - as was I!
